Our Approach

Our Approach to Rehabilitation

At SILAB Polyclinic, rehabilitation is based on modern neurodevelopmental concepts, interdisciplinary collaboration, and an individualised approach to every patient.

Our goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to understand how each person moves, functions, and participates in everyday life. For this reason, every therapy programme is tailored to the patient’s specific needs – whether it involves a child in development or an adult seeking to restore movement, function, and quality of life.

Therapeutic Approach at SILAB Polyclinic

At SILAB Polyclinic, our therapeutic approach is based on internationally recognised neurodevelopmental concepts and modern rehabilitation guidelines, which are tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

When working with children, our therapists apply the Bobath Concept, including advanced training in infant therapy (Baby Bobath). This approach focuses on promoting high-quality movement development, postural control, and functional movement patterns through activities that form a natural part of a child’s everyday life.

In addition, we often integrate the principles of sensory integration into therapy to support the development of motor skills, regulation of the nervous system, and the child’s active participation in age-appropriate activities. By observing the relationship between movement, sensory processing, and the environment, we strive to understand each child as a whole and tailor therapy to their individual needs.

When working with adult patients, we also follow neurodevelopmental principles of movement. Our therapeutic approach includes methods such as the Normal Movement Concept and DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization), which is based on early developmental movement patterns and core stabilisation principles.

By combining knowledge of movement development in children with the biomechanics of movement in adults, we gain a broader understanding of how movement is organised and controlled. This integrated approach enables us to better understand functional movement throughout all stages of life.

Individualised Treatment Plan

At SILAB Polyclinic, therapy is not based on predefined protocols. Each patient receives an individualised rehabilitation plan, developed following an initial assessment and evaluation of their functional abilities.

The assessment includes an analysis of:

  • Medical diagnosis

  • Functional limitations and movement patterns

  • Ability to perform activities of daily living

  • Age and overall health condition

  • Personal rehabilitation goals

Based on the assessment findings, our specialist team determines the most appropriate combination of therapeutic methods, while the treatment plan is continuously adjusted according to the patient’s progress.

Our rehabilitation programmes combine physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration, and robot-assisted rehabilitation, enabling more intensive movement training and improved functional outcomes.

Patient progress is monitored through clinical assessments, standardised testing, and objective measurements obtained using advanced rehabilitation technologies. These tools allow us to accurately track key parameters such as strength, stability, balance, coordination, and movement control.

The Rehabilitation Process

The rehabilitation process begins with an initial consultation and a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s functional condition.

  • Adults: The assessment is conducted by a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation who reviews the patient’s medical history, documentation, and clinical findings to determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach.
  • Children: A detailed developmental assessment is carried out by a paediatric rehabilitation specialist or a therapist experienced in developmental evaluations. The assessment focuses on movement patterns, sensory processing, developmental skills, and the child’s functional participation in everyday activities.

Based on the assessment, a clear treatment plan and rehabilitation goals are established. Patients and parents are actively involved in the process and are encouraged to participate in achieving these goals.

We always provide patients and parents with guidance and home-based activities, as rehabilitation does not end in the therapy room. When patients understand the purpose of therapy and actively engage in the process, outcomes are often more meaningful and long-lasting.

Our Philosophy of Care

At SILAB Polyclinic, a diagnosis is an important starting point, but we never view a patient solely through the lens of their diagnosis.

Every individual comes to us with their own movement patterns, life circumstances, habits, and personal goals. That is why every therapy programme is planned individually, taking into account the patient’s everyday life and the activities that matter most to them.

Patient and parent education is an integral part of the rehabilitation process. Understanding the situations in which a person moves, works, and participates in daily activities helps us connect therapy with real-life challenges and meaningful outcomes.

When working with children, we view therapy as a partnership between the therapist, the child, and the family. Parents play a vital role because they spend the most time with their child. Through guidance and education, we help them apply therapeutic principles in everyday situations.

Continuity of therapy is equally important. Changing movement patterns and developing new motor strategies require time, repetition, and consistency. For this reason, we see rehabilitation as an ongoing process in which professional expertise, active patient participation, and continuous practice work together to achieve lasting results.
