Ana-Marija Šalković is a paediatric occupational therapist and Head of the Professional Team at SILAB Polyclinic, specializing in working with children with neurodevelopmental and motor difficulties. Her work focuses on paediatric occupational therapy, individualized treatment approaches, and the application of modern therapeutic methods aimed at improving a child’s daily functioning and development. As the Head of the Professional Team at SILAB Polyclinic, she contributes to the development of therapeutic approaches and provides professional guidance for clinical practice.
She completed her undergraduate studies in Occupational Therapy at the University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb and earned a Master’s degree in Special Education and Rehabilitation, receiving the Rector’s Award for academic excellence. She continuously advances her professional knowledge in the fields of occupational therapy, neurodevelopment, and contemporary therapeutic approaches.
In her clinical practice, she provides paediatric occupational therapy, Baby Handling, and licensed and certified Othmer Method® Neurofeedback therapy for both children and adults. She has a particular interest in working with children with neurodevelopmental difficulties, combining various therapeutic approaches to achieve optimal developmental outcomes. She also provides parent counselling and participates in the education of professionals in the fields of neurofeedback and occupational therapy.
She completed a two-year supervised training program in Play Therapy, earning the qualification of a Play Therapy Practitioner. As a collaborator with the University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb, she contributes to the education of future occupational therapists by mentoring students during their clinical placements and supporting newly qualified practitioners.
Her professional experience includes work at Goljak Special Hospital, involvement with the Zamisli Association for the Promotion of Quality Education for Young People with Disabilities, and conducting educational workshops for children and parents at the “Pričaj mi” Centre for Psychological Support and Development.
In her therapeutic work, she places particular emphasis on collaboration with parents, their active involvement in the therapeutic process, as well as education and counselling, with the aim of providing long-term support for the child’s development.
