Josefina Prislan Urek is a physiotherapist who continuously develops her professional expertise through ongoing education and diverse clinical experience in the fields of neurological, orthopaedic, and sports rehabilitation. She graduated in Physiotherapy from Alma Mater Europaea – ECM in Ljubljana and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree. Part of her education was completed in Barcelona (EUSES – Universitat de Girona), where she focused on sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, and diagnostic methods.
During her education and clinical practice, she gained experience in leading healthcare institutions, including the University Rehabilitation Institute URI Soča and Celje General Hospital, where she worked with patients in orthopaedics, surgery, cardiology, and internal medicine departments. She has developed a particular interest in working with neurological patients, paediatric neurodevelopmental therapy, and sensory integration.
Her professional experience has been further enriched through international projects in Palestine, Tanzania, and India, where she worked with a wide range of patient groups, including neurological, orthopaedic, paediatric, and oncology patients. She applies an individualized and function-oriented approach, emphasizing active patient participation throughout the rehabilitation process, including individuals with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
She has also worked with athletes through her collaboration with GNK Dinamo Zagreb, where she was involved in the rehabilitation of sports injuries and the development of individualized programs aimed at improving function and preventing injuries. She continuously expands her knowledge through additional professional training, including certification in the Medical Flossing technique.
