Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Senka Fruk is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with more than 25 years of experience in paediatric rehabilitation, working with children from infancy through adolescence. She graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and completed her specialist training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2000.
She developed her professional career at Krapinske Toplice Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation, where she worked in inpatient rehabilitation and served as Head of Department. She participated in the establishment of a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic for paediatric rehabilitation, including services for children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. Since 2015, she has been working at Goljak Special Hospital as Head of the Department and Day Hospital for Infants and Young Children, while also participating in the work of the outpatient physiatry clinic.
Her particular area of professional interest is neurodevelopment and the assessment of child development from the earliest age, including motor, sensory, speech and language, perceptual-cognitive, and socio-emotional development, as well as the early identification of developmental deviations and referral to appropriate therapeutic programs.
She continuously expands her expertise through participation in national and international professional and scientific conferences and through specialized training programs, including NR Bobath, Baby Bobath, Munich Functional Developmental Diagnostics, Early Sensory Integration Therapy, Three-Dimensional Manual Foot Therapy, Vojta Kinesiological Diagnostics, and the Schroth Method.
At SILAB Polyclinic, she works as an external consultant, providing paediatric physiatry assessments and participating in the diagnosis and evaluation of children’s neurodevelopmental status, with recommendations for further therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation programs.
